Hi, my name is Monica and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself so you can get to know me a bit better.
It took me a few years to get to where I am now. The first big step for me was to leave my hometown in Spain and travel the many miles to the UK. After arriving in the UK I started to work as an au-pair and learn English as well as learn about the British culture. After being an au-pair I worked as a domestic assistant in a residential home for ex-servicemen and women. It was while working there, in the home, that I began a photography course.
Photography grew on me so I decided to take it further and make it my career. Taking pictures wasn’t the only reason to take photography more seriously but also the fact that I really enjoy making people happy. I realised that people get really happy and emotional when they see an image that means a lot to them.
My first photography was landscape, close-up and natural photography. However, I soon moved into portrait, wedding and event photography. When I finished my photography courses I started working in entertainment photography, mainly red carpet and film premieres. Then I was given the opportunity to work as a press photographer in Aberdeen. So I packed all my stuff and I moved up to the North Sea. It was a good experience but also cold, OMG it is really cold up there!!!! After one year as a press photographer and a good number of images featured in the national papers I moved back to London where I continued as a freelancer, taking more wedding and event pictures but this time also putting together my own exhibitions.
This is where I find myself today, keeping a keen eye on my surroundings and with my camera ready to document your memorable moments, whether it be a wedding, an anniversary, your first gig, graduation or any other day that means something special to you....
